Hiya --

I'm the creator of the list, and the editor of the print magazine it's from. We posted it as a free read on the magazine's web site, as a publicity thing. I don't mind your having the list up, but I'd appreciate it if you'd link to the magazine instead of to a place that's just reprinting it:

Also, could you mention I'm the author?

Thanks,
Deborah Markus

Oh yeah, that's a good list.

I plan to homeschool and am already starting to get flak for not putting my just-turned-four-year-old in preschool and questions about when she will start kindergarden (which would be in two years, if we decided to put her in kindergarden).

When I reveal that I would like to homeschool, I get Number 17 a lot, usually in the form, "Oh, I could never homeschool. I'm just not organized enough." Which, as I am the least organized person on the planet, does NOT make me feel any better, but thanks anyways. MIL is way into Number 6, as well as fretting about "socializing and socialization". Then I get the elementary school teachers questioning my competency, since motherhood plus a degree in electrical engineering obviously doesn't qualify me to teach my kids.

Anyways, to get a head start on homeschooling, I am developing some web-based online flashcards for early learning at http://www.mooneleaf.com/flashcards You and Nathan should check them out if you get a chance, I think he would like them based on where he is in the "talking" process.
